C+B Architects, in joint venture with Delta Built Environment Consultants, provided full design services and construction documentation for the new Air Traffic Control Tower and Fire and Rescue Services Complex at Lanseria International Airport.
The project formed part of Lanseria’s transition from a general aviation aerodrome to a commercial international airport. The new tower was designed and positioned to deliver clear, comprehensive visibility across the airport precinct, enabling safe management of its expanded runway.
The integration of the control tower with the fire station and the offices of the South African Weather Services was a deliberate design decision to reduce emergency response times and improve overall airport safety. The Fire and Rescue Complex was equipped to meet the current operational needs of the airport, while allowing for future expansion as demand grows.
This project highlights C+B’s experience in delivering highly functional, efficient, and adaptable architectural solutions within the aviation sector.
